Old Nogales Highway south of East Lumber Street is closed due to downed power lines and poles, according to the Pima County Sheriff's Department.
A thunderstorm was moving into the area from the east side. The storms is currently over Saguaro National Park East. This storm could produce damaging winds.
The storm is moving west at 5 to 10 mph, according to the National Weather Service.
Another strong storm was east of Interstate 19 and also moving west toward Sahuarita and Green Valley. The severe thunderstorm warning for this area was also in effect until 1:45 p.m.
A flood advisory is also in effect for east central Pima County until 3:30 p.m.
About 10,000 Tucson Electric Power customers are without service after a storm swept through Tucson, affecting mostly the south and west sides.
The outages are mostly north of Green Valley and Sahuarita, said TEP spokesman Joe Barrios.
